**What Is L-Citrulline?**

L-Citrulline is an amino acid that plays an important role in nitric oxide (NO) metabolism. Increased NO promotes vascular dilation, when your blood vessels widen. This supports “the pump” during training and encourages optimal oxygen and blood circulation. In other words, it gives you better pumps and more muscle endurance.*

When you mix Kaged L-Citrulline into a scoop of another product, like Pre-Kaged or Hydra-Charge, it doesn’t really alter the taste. On its own, users say that it has a slight sour taste, but it’s not as tart as unflavored BCAAs.

IS L-CITRULLINE BETTER THAN CITRULLINE MALATE?

By weight, citrulline malate only has about half as much citrulline as free-form l-citrulline. This means companies can get away with using a cheaper form and say their products have twice as much citrulline than they really do. Additionally, citrulline malate needs to get broken down into citrulline before it can be used by the body anyway, so it adds an extra step that makes the form less immediately available.
